Fishing Update – Week 4 (July 3 – July 9, 2016)

How best to describe this week…Hot, Hot, Hot! As we left the dock this morning the seas were calm and the Fairweathers were peaking through clouds. The weather this week was sunny and warm. Most of the faces look like they have been vacationing in warmer climates. In addition to having lots of sun, the winds have been calm all week. This made for great fishing on great water.

Salmon this week were generally deep. The Pinks, Chums, and Silvers are large this year. Downrigger depths ranged from 35 to 110 feet. The most productive hoochies appear to be pink and green.

Halibut, as forecast, continues to be very good. Many of the bigger ones came from Pinta and Lulu this week. There are also schools of medium sized ones moving throughout the area.

It continues to be a great season at Doc’s. Now’s a great time to drop us a line and talk about your next adventure to Doc’s.

See you reel soon,
Mark
