Fishing Update – Week 11 (August 21 – 27, 2016)

What a beautiful Saturday. The skies are clear and the mountains are crisp in the distance as we leave the dock. The silvers started showing in better numbers on Friday this week. We expect them to continue to build over the next two weeks. In general, the run was spotty in the middle but all indications are that we should have a good ending.

The halibut continue to impress. We had several large fish on the dock this week and boxes are full of Alaskan white meat. The big one was 182 and there were several other large ones this week.

The fall weather pattern continues to hold so things change frequently from day to day. This week we had calm, storm, fog, windy, storm, clear days; just about something for everybody. The weather did not slow us down and the fishing was fantastic.

Thank you all for another great week at Doc’s. I look forward to seeing you again “reel” soon.
