Fishing Update – Week 12 (August 28 – September 3, 2016)

What a beautiful week. The water was calm and the days were bright. The mountains provided a beautiful backdrop to the water. It was weather more reminiscent of June and July than early September. The days have turned a little cooler and it won’t be long before the snow line begins to descend.

Salmon fishing has remained slow. Our guests were catching but they trolled long hours to find them. We hear rumors that they are still coming and we are hopeful they will arrive soon. There is another small storm system moving in this weekend and we think this might push in the next wave. We continue to catch a lot of small silvers. It looks like next year’s run is going to be exceptional.

Halibut continue to remain strong. Guests fished all areas of the grounds and there were many fish to be caught. There were many smiles and happy fish boxes when we loaded up on Saturday.

Thanks again for another great week at Doc’s. See you “reel” soon.
