2019 Twenty Nineteen

Fishing Update – 2019 Week 1 (June 16 – June 22, 2019)

Week one of the 2019 season is in the books. This last week, the weather gave us a mix. Monday and Tuesday were wet and rainy with calm winds. Things started to lighten mid week and we were catching warm sunshine by the end.

Halibut started on the west and we were catching on the east of the fishing grounds later in the week. This week we had some nice 50s, 60s, and 80s. Several Dolly Varden were caught.

Salmon was off this week. The forecasts remain strong for chum and we saw a few pinks in the catch. Barry found a couple of small Kings and then went halibut fishing. As we left the lodge this morning, there were over a dozen trollers out plying the waters. We expect the salmon fishing to improve rapidly.

In all it was a great week to be at Doc’s. Drop us a line to get in on all the action.
