Fishing Update – 2019 Week 7 (July 28 – August 3, 2019)

Large fish week! We had several super-sized halibut this week. In fact, we are halfway through the season and we have already had our normal annual allotment of 100#, 150# & 200# club inductees.

The tides were stronger towards the end of the week but that didn’t slow things down which goes to show, tides aren’t everything when fishing. We continue to have a fairly dry summer weather pattern.

This is turning out to be a moderate in number Salmon year. The Silvers are extra fat this year and we continue to see fish in the 14 – 16# class. Some fishermen caught silvers weighing in the low 20#s. We also continue to catch nice chum and a few reds mixed in with the pinks.

As we leave the dock this morning there are many full boxes on the dock and happy memories. Plans are likewise being made for the return trip to that special place on the water we call “Doc’s”.
