Fishing Update – 2019 Week 11 (August 25 – 31, 2019)

Silvers, silvers, and did you hear…more silvers! The salmon fishing has really picked up. The fish come in waves and those who were patient during the the slow times were rewarded well with doubles and triples (2 or 3 on the line at the same time). The silvers are high quality this year with many larger specimens.

Halibut were slower this week as many guests focused on the salmon. We did see a new lodge record for the year at 225 pounds. We also had a few fish in the 100 pound range. Later in the week we had large tides which also impacted the halibut fishing time but obviously not the sizes.

The skies are clear and we are decidedly cooler now that the fall weather pattern has arrived. The Fairweather range was picturesque most days. As we leave the dock today the waters are calm and the fish boxes full.

Thanks again for another great week at that special place we call Doc’s.
