Silvers, Silvers, Silvers! … Oh … And Rain, Rain, Rain! Saturday, Sunday, and Monday’s rain brought large numbers of salmon into our area. Of the 5 fishing days this week it must have rained 4 of them. As we leave the dock this morning on the catamaran, the skies are mostly sunny and the water is very flat.

The tides this week were the largest of the season and made halibut fishing difficult in most areas. We did see a couple of large fish and a few people joined the 100# and 150# club despite the rushing water. Places that yielded large fish were close to shore.

The big story of the week was the salmon fishing. Silvers were excellent and boats were limiting more often than not on some very nice fish. Because of the storms most of the fish were caught towards the surface and downriggers were not required. This simplified the fishing gear and made for very fun silvers.
