Smoked Salmon Lasagna , credit Ken Read

INGREDIENTS

2 salmon filets
2 cloves minced garlic
1 large lemon
4 tbsp honey
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp old bay or Chinese five spice

Directions

  1. Remove salmon skin
    2. Pat salmon dry
    3. Combine salt, pepper, onion powder, and old bay or Chinese five spice
    4. Cut lemon in half
    5. Juice half of lemon and cut other half into thin slices
    6. Cover both sides of salmon with seasoning mixture
    7. Heat oven safe frying pan on medium high heat (cast iron works well)
    8. Melt butter
    9. Add garlic and sauté about 1 minute
    10. Add honey to pan
    11. Add lemon juice
    12. Add salmon and cook 3 to 4 minutes
    13. Flip salmon over and cook 3 to 4 minutes spooning butter mixture over the salmon
    14. Remove from heat and add lemon slices to the top of the salmon
    15. Put pan of salmon in oven and broil until caramelized

Number of Servings: 2   / Preparation Time: 15 minutes  / Cooking Time: 10 minutes  / Notes:  Grill the salmon for a few minutes on each side to make removing the skin easier.

Try with halibut as well, it’s delicious!
