Valdez Halibut

INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon minced onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup olive oil, divided
2 cups tomato sauce
2 peppercorns, ground
2 whole cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
10 green olives, sliced
8 halibut steaks
3 potatoes, boiled and diced
4 slices bread, sauteed and cut in strips

INSTRUCTIONS
Saute onion and garlic in 1/2 the oil. Add tomato sauce and spices, and cook for 20 minutes.

Add sugar and olives. Saute the steaks in the rest of the oil until halibut flakes.

When halibut is done, add to the sauce with the potatoes. Garnish with bread sticks.

Serves 8.
